Earl Vincent Boley   |   Milisa Valliere   |   Jian Wang

Jian Wang:
Jian Wang (pronounced "gin wong") is a small, gentle man with a buoyant smile, a kind manner, an engaging personality, and a zest for life. He is a prolific artist who produces over a hundred new works per year. He paints fast and large with many pieces measuring over 72x96 inches. His subject matter is vast. Landscapes, nudes, and still-life paintings in thick impasto strokes (thick application of paint) Jian Wang was born in Dalian, China (a bustling seaport of 2.5 million people) in 1958. He studied art for six years at the Dalian Youth Palace of Arts and arrived in the United States in 1986. He studied with modern masters such as Wayne Thiebaud, Manuel Neri, Oliver Jackson and Fred Dalkey, and received his Masters degree in fine art in 1994. Jian has held forty-two one-man shows from New York City to San Francisco. His work hangs in corporate, public, and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia. It has been written that, "Today, with the exception of Wayne Thiebaud and possibly Greg Kondos, there is no more successful or prolific artist in Sacramento, California."

Jian says, "I'm hungry for creation, I'm always hoping that my next painting will be better than my last one. But it never happens. So I am interested in the search, in the exploration. I am only motivated by artistic achievement."
